American Business Women s Day

Since mid-1990s, September 22 in the U.S. has been widely celebrated as American Business Women's Day. This holiday was initiated by the organization of American business women, who came to the conclusion that the contribution of its members to economic development and prosperity of America had not been duly appreciated as yet.

In order to correct this injustice, it was decided to establish American Business Women's Day.

On September 22, 1949 Hilary Bufton, a businesswoman from Kansas, and three other businesswomen founded the American Business Women's Association, which later became the National Association of Professional Women professialnoy.

The holiday hasn’t acquired an international status yet, for many feminists regard it as not quite correct politically. However, on September 22, celebrations and festive receptions are held across America, honoring more than 57 million working women.
