Admin Appreciation Day

The history of this professional holiday - System Administrator Appreciation Day - dates back to the year 1999. One day,

Ted Kekatos, a system administrator from Chicago, came up with the idea of initiating a professional holiday for his colleagues.

The first step towards the implementation of this idea was Ted’s official registering the domain SysAdminDay.com and creating a web site there. He decided to celebrate the Day of the system administrator on the last Friday of July.

Sysadmin Appreciation Day

Today the site of system administrators draws attention of hundreds of thousands of users, including not only system administrators, but also certified programmers, automation departments, IT and Web-programming officers. Of course, rank-and-file users are not exempt from that number.

LOPSA or, in other words, the League of Professional System Administrators and their site www.lopsa.org come very handy in finding "one of the family".

Anyone can become a member of this league irrespective of your residence, as soon as you get registered and contribute to the life of the site of professional programmers.
